This policy explains what information Mira Book Gem (“we”, “us”) collects through mirabookgem.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Mira Book Gem is a resource hub for nursing students and nurses, with ebooks, study guides and member resources. You can reach us by email at [email protected] or by phone at +1 (773) 551-6117.
Information you give us
- Your account: your name, username, email address and password (stored in scrambled form, so nobody can read it), plus any profile details you add.
- Orders and memberships: your name, billing details, email address, phone number, what you bought and your membership plan. Card payments are handled by WooPayments, Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
- Resources you share: the files, title and description you upload, and the name and email address you enter on the form. Your name is shown publicly on the resource (“Shared by”). Your email address is not shown.
- Bookings: your name, email address, phone number and the details of the appointment you book.
- Chat: our live chat bubble is provided by Tidio. Messages and details you type there are handled by Tidio. In our community chat room, your display name and messages can be seen by other people in the room.
- Contact form and newsletter: your name, email address and message.
- Job listings: the details you submit if you post a job.
- Wishlist and compare lists: the products you save.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Hostinger) and Cloudflare (which protects and speeds up the site) record basic technical details such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. These records are used to keep the site secure and working.
Cookies
We only use cookies that the site needs to work:
- a login cookie, when you sign in;
- cookies that keep your cart, checkout, wishlist and compare list working;
- cookies and browser storage used by the Tidio chat to keep your conversation open;
- a security cookie set by Cloudflare to block automated attacks.
We do not use advertising cookies or visitor tracking tools.
How we use your information
- to run your account and membership and give you access to what you bought;
- to process orders and send receipts;
- to publish the resources you choose to share;
- to manage bookings;
- to answer your messages and chats;
- to send our newsletter, if you signed up;
- to keep the website secure and working;
- to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only when needed to run the website:
- Hostinger: hosts the site and its data and sends its emails.
- Cloudflare: delivers the site and protects it from attacks.
- WooPayments, Stripe and PayPal: process payments.
- Tidio: runs the live chat.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
These providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. Order records are kept as long as accounting and tax rules require. Resources you share stay published until you or we remove them. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
Your choices
You can update most account details yourself from your account page. You can also ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it or remove a resource you shared. To stop getting our newsletter, or for any of the above, email [email protected] and we will respond as soon as we can.
Security
The site uses a secure connection (HTTPS), uploaded files cannot run code on our server, login attempts are limited, and the site is backed up regularly. No website can be completely secure, so please contact us right away if you think something is wrong.
Children
This website is meant for nursing students and nurses. It is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
